CCR means Country Club Republican. And African Americans/immigrants are moving to Texas in droves though not as big as in Georgia.

The suburbs swinging hard D pretty much canceled out all the gains tfg made in the rural majority Hispanic counties in South Texas. Biden flipped voter-rich Tarrant in DFW and also flipped Hays and Williamson (Austin). And while they didn't flip, there were significant swings to Biden in the Houston suburban counties of Brazos and Montgomery. Basically, Biden winning and/or improving upon Hillary's margins/losses from 2016 in counties with more people seem to explain why tfg's margin was a little narrower this time. Even some uber-GQP counties with smaller "big cities" (Lubbock and Amarillo in Potter and Wichita Falls in Wichita) swung to Biden. I imagine had Biden replicated Hillary and Beto's margins in Cameron (Brownsville), El Paso, and Hidalgo (McAllen) counties, his margin of defeat could have been reduced by half. Obviously, the orange buffoon benefited from some of the the rural counties getting [non-Atlas] redder.

Hopefully Dems can continue to build on the gains in the suburbs and stop the bleeding with Hispanics before the fascists in the Texas GQP enact more draconian voter suppression measures in the state to disenfranchise minority voters, particularly those in the urban counties. If/When Texas goes [non-Atlas] blue, it could mean Game Over for the MAGA cult.

But I will defer to our Texas avatars for better theories.

Karl Rove gave an excellent analysis of the Texas results, which you can read here
