On an intellectual level, I hate the idea of "Activist History." Considering that's his bio, I'm gonna go with no.

Also, this is a very random human to make a poll about.

11 years ago at W&M I had a class on the history of black people and women in Virginia. Our final exam essay was to explain how rich white men are responsible for all of Virginia's problems. I got an A- .

Why is that white man afraid of being governed by other white people? What a strange fixation!

One of his reasons for U.S. "descending into a civil war" is voter ID! This dude is nuts! And he's a PhD professor in a highly ranked graduate school. Academia isn't sending their best.

As someone who is currently doing "grad school" (sort of, we don't really have an equivalent to US grad school); not in a million years.

Indeed my curriculum does not feature anything even remotely similar to that, not even as a elective! (In fact all classes are directly related to the contents of my grad program, with even the least related classes being at least tangentially related to it, or being broad enough that they are somewhat applicable).

Though presumably that class is intended for Sociology students or something so I would not be the target audience anyways.

How did this genre of "Twitter threads" where long strings of by-design-very-short messages are brute-forced into full-length pseudoessays become an acceptable way of making ostensibly serious arguments, and how can we get people to cut it out?

Probably just get rid of Twitter.

It'd probably be more entertaining than reading through Twitter, if we're being honest.

Yes, if Trump were actually the voice crying in the wilderness when it comes to big tech that his supporters like to claim he is, he would have threatened to ban the app whose business model is all-but-explicitly predicated on shredding our society, rather than the one that credulous teenagers use to post dumb dances and overshare about their "s3ggs" lives.

I remember when a classmate took a breadth course that was very similar to this one almost a decade ago. He recounted to me the things that he had been told and we were both horrified, because we did not know that courses like that existed. That was a much more innocent time overall.

To answer the topic question, hard no.

Which is the basis of what could become, with Emergence Theory, the mathematical basis of modern alchemy.

To be fair to Mr. Reactionary's professor, if there's one state in the Union of which this is almost indisputably true...
