Duke won a special election to the Louisiana House of Representatives because the people of Metairie, surely one of the greatest monuments to man's wickedness in this country, were afraid that his opponent was too amenable to higher property taxes. This remained a pet issue of his in his later campaigns for public office.

Perhaps there are a handful of closet-bigoted SALT grievance voters who are taken by this rhetoric, or perhaps it's just jaichind cloning himself.

Also, should this poll really be calling him "Dr. David Duke"?  The legitimacy of his "doctorate," from what I've read, is very controversial at best (according to Wikipedia, it isn't recognized by the Ukrainian government).
