I mean yeah. The Republican party is not even conservative anymore in the Classical Sense. Conservativism in the Classical sense, means to protect the insitutions that we all hold dear, unity, order, stability.

But now the Republican party thinks the insitutions are too corrupt and " Woke " to be preserved and protected. And that's bad folks. Very bad.

It's a Counter revolutionary movement. A reactionary movement.

Fascism is revolutionary, as any scholar of the topic who is not a Soviet communist will tell you.

And then armed, it's not a good combination to be so paranoid that imagined enemies want to erase you and then arm yourself to the teeth like conservative America is doing. The next few decades are going to be crazy.

The media also never misses an oppurtunity to normalize this crap. Describing the people espousing poisonous ideology with niceties and normalcy, as if we care that they have "good manners" while they poorly recycle the same old trash and discredited ideas.

Quote
The second strain is made up of mid-career politicians and operatives who are learning to adapt to the age of populist rage: people like Ted Cruz (Princeton, Harvard), J. D. Vance (Yale Law), and Josh Hawley (Stanford and Yale).

If these schools are "left wing indoctrination mills" then why did Cruz, Vance and Hawley choose to go there? And how did they escape said indoctrination?

Do you view Reagan/Thatcher as conservatives in the classical sense given they wanted to deconstruct the existing  bureaucratic state .

Does anyone on the American right want to talk about issues that actually matter anymore?
Any takers for a serious conversation on healthcare policy? Anyone up for getting into the nitty-gritty on precisely which infrastructure projects we should fund? Anyone coming up with new and interesting ideas for tax policy? Anyone want to talk substance on American education--and not just CRT rhetoric but about how we can lead the world on major educational metrics again? Anyone want to go back to making (dumb, but substantial) philosophical points in favor of federalism and devolution to the states again?
Please! Engage us! Let's debate real issues again, hold each other accountable, and act in good faith.
Or are we just going to be locked into rabble-rousing about cultural fluff and the malevolence of big tech for the next decade?

The future of the GOP is fascism.  Currently they’re fascist-adjacent.  Soon they’ll be outright and totally fascist.  Mussolini would be proud of the direction they’re headed.

And Democrats are still acting like it’s politics as usual when the stakes could not possibly be higher.  When the GOP retains an ounce of power, America as we know it is over.

We'll see in about a year.

Yes. And it’s being couched as a revolution against society.

I mean your party can't stop crying and whining about an election that's been over for a year that was "stolen" from them...

"The elections was mean and it didn't go the way I wanted"... wahhh wahhhh wahhhhh....

No.

They're Classical Liberals in the traditional sense. Smaller Government. Property Rights. Individual liberty.

Conservativism in the Classical Sense, is Konrad Adenauer, Benjamin Disreali.

The future of the American right is to be like the left is today, except with more tax cuts.

This reminds me now of Golden Dawn, Fidesz, Pegida minus the neo nazi roots for those 2 parties.

Half of the right was made up of the Ku Klux Klan in the United States in 1924.

There is a reason why the metaphor "selling off the family silver" is invoked in the way that it is.

I vehemently oppose the rehabilitation of the socialist and communist ideologies - and I'm talking about actual socialism, not "the government doing stuff"...

Anyone who praises Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Mussolini - is a damn fool and a danger to our political system.
