The United States of America is transformed into an imperial monarchy under House Trump, with Donald I as Emperor. The Imperial House (Emperor Donald and Empress Melania, Crown Prince Donald, Princess Ivanka, Prince Eric, Princess Tiffany, and Prince Barron) enjoy immense luxury, privilege, wealth, and legal immunity, with a lifetime hold on power and dynastic succession. The Emperor is somewhat divorced from politics, but still holds the ultimate power of veto over any law passed (in practice, this power is exercised rarely but it does still happen). All elected officials must swear an oath of loyalty to the Imperial Crown, and in theory any can be dismissed by the Emperor if he sees it fit. With a lifetime grip on the throne, the Emperor leaves foreign and domestic policy up to the elected politicians and instead spends his time on "making America great again," focusing mainly on a few pet policies (such as trade) when he does choose to get involved.

The Imperial Parliament is elected every four years, with two major political parties. One leans more liberal and one leans more conservative, but there is a large amount of overlap and both share a commitment to a strong welfare state, a largely non-interventionist foreign policy, and rehabilitative rather than punitive justice. Politics is remarkably respectful, with almost all elections based on the merits of the parties/candidates and their policies rather than personal attacks and false narratives. There is little political animosity. The United States enjoys universal healthcare, affordable housing for all, free education, and strong labor unions, while at the same time having a fairly restrictive immigration system.

Do you accept?

Probably the only circumstances where you could get me to accept a Trump monarchy.

I would imagine that in this scenario illegal immigration would be even more of a problem than it already is.

Glory to the Emperor on his golden throne, for it is only through He that the covfefe shall flow.

So it's most of the Anglosphere just with Trump instead if Elizabeth II? Maybe not quite as 'constututional' but pretty decent. On everything important it seems better than the US and probably better than NZ too- we certainly don't have 'affordable housing for all'.

Agreed, but it seems unrealistic that Trump wouldn't f**k things up.

I can't imagine Donald Trump not wielding his power to its fullest extent if he was an emperor.

The way it's described seems to me less like Anglosphere countries and something more comparable to like Morocco, which falls half way between authoritarian absolute monarchies and pure constitutional monarchies.
