Seems to be an old poem from the early 20th century.
But it should also reflect the feelings of some Ukrainian soldiers too, particularly those from the east of Ukraine.

If that is correct, a big if, then siding with Putin against Prigozin didn't save Kadyrov from being assasinated by Putin anyway.

Basically they all did the same mistake as the soviet military and the politburo vs Stalin, they should have killed him first.

That’s not even the worst thing I saw a Russian solider do today and for the sack of the tos I’m not posting the twitter link of what it was but is was a horrific crime that happened in Luhansk that I’m shocked isn’t causing much outrage but I gues everyone is numb to it now

Some US officials have complained privately to the media that Ukraine had failed during training to master modern operations that combine mechanised infantry, artillery and air defence and were too risk averse in their approach.

It pointed out that if the USA were to be involved in a similar conflict like the Russia-Ukraine war then the losses the USA army would sustain would basically mean the return to conscription

The Russia-Ukraine War is exposing significant vulnerabilities in the Army’s strategic personnel depth and ability to withstand and replace casualties. Army theater medical planners may anticipate a sustained rate of roughly 3,600 casualties per day, ranging from those killed in action to those wounded in action or suffering disease or other non-battle injuries. With a 25 percent predicted replacement rate, the personnel system will require 800 new personnel each day. For context, the United States sustained about 50,000 casualties in two decades of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In large-scale combat operations, the United States could experience that same number of casualties in two weeks.13

Yeah, I think in retrospect the 2022-2023 Russian winter offensive against the Ukraine energy grid was as much about weakening Ukraine's anti-air resources as to ensure Russian air superiority when the Ukraine Summer offensive came as it was a real attempt to hit Ukraine's economy.  That said, I do not see any reason why they will not do it again this winter.
