haven't commented yet on this thread. been in shock honestly. my hatred for putin can not be stated or measured. just going to keep ukraine in my thoughts and especially for our ukrainian poster and his family. this whole decade so far has been a total sh!tshow and its tiring

In the first scenario, Putin will be victorious in a matter of days, but refrain from occupying the entire Ukraine, in particular the West. In the second scenario, he would attempt just that, leading to a protracted guerilla war that could last for years.

That's the thing - if it's regime change he's after, he'll need to occupy the whole country if he wants a president of Ukraine who's his stooge. And, well, the western parts of Ukraine won't be particularly happy about that.

God bless the Ukrainian Army of the People. They are heroes, they impress me constantly, and their struggle is incredibly righteous! They are incredible, they are incredible! From the airfield today, to Sumy, and Kherson, the Ukrainian people are not giving in!

As someone who considers myself firmly on the left and has stood against escalation and belligerence from the start on either side; f**k this warmongering imperialist Putin to hell and back.

Ukraine is not a NATO country and we should still not get directly involved in any manner whatsoever. That being said, I am all in favor of sending huge amounts of aid to Ukraine and crushing Russia's economy through sanctions. Certainly a better use of money for weapons than our bloated defense budget.
