I implore whoever takes the other seat to vote against this terrible bill. Even if there was some merit in this obsessive nanny state pampering, this bill is simply a hodgepodge of red tape at this point which cannot be allowed to pass. We're creating state-run Shake Shacks with unspecified price controls, and that is just one provision within this bill. I have added numerous amendments to the bill which should never have been allowed to stand—and yet the sponsor allowed them because he was determined, it would seem, to finally slay the windmill that has been threatening him in his deluded state for so long.

If we want to be taken seriously, we must uphold this veto. To override this veto would be an absurd gesture, designed to satiate some misdirected paternalistic desire that has animated so much of the legislation introduced by the Speaker this session.
