With BYU eventually going to the Big XII, does any team end up replacing it in the WCC? Maybe California Baptist or GCU?

Maybe Chaminade moves up from Division II?

Chaminade usually isn’t all that good in DII.

I hope this is a joke.

In the NIT quarterfinals, St. Bonaventure led Virginia at halftime by the football-like score of 21-17 and held on to win 52-51.  Tonight's other quarterfinal is Vanderbilt at Xavier, with the remaining two tomorrow: Wake Forest @ Texas A&M and Washington State @ BYU.

GCU isn't much of a cultural fit.  Seattle U is though the program isn't very good.

I'd guess they'll be an Independent for a while, though I wouldn't be shocked if they eventually end up in the Horizon League or the Missouri Valley Conference, with a small chance of the Summit League being also possible.

They should probably shut down as a school.

I'm shocked.  Drew Timme, who travels about 50% of the time, was finally called for it.

Gonzaga vs. Arkansas is not going to be pretty.

What were you saying about Gonzaga routing Arkansas again?

It won't be the first wrong prediction I've ever made, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Smiley

By the end of tomorrow night all four #1 seeds could be out. Neither Houston nor Providence are going to be cakewalks for Arizona and Kansas. Hell, I'd even say Houston is probably a narrow favorite over Arizona they way they've played in the tournament thus far, and Providence/Kansas is a tossup the way both teams have played in the tournament thus far.

Frank Martin, recently fired at South Carolina, has been offered the Head Coach position at UMass.

This would be an excellent hire for the Minutemen. Martin has NCAA Tournament experience at Kansas State and South Carolina, and previous ties to Massachusetts as an assistant at Northeastern.

He won't be able to bring the Minutemen back to the John Calipari glory years, but a clear improvement from least season's 15-17 record, and probably an NIT berth is very doable next season.

Arizona one minute away from being the third #1 seed to fall, and the second to lose tonight, as Houston leads 67-60.

The right side of my bracket (Houston over Villanova and Kansas over Iowa State) looking pretty pretty good right now. And i don't mind saying it because I would love to jynx it.

See you Saturday, San Antone.
