To lower the window for moving to another region


Be it enacted by the Senate of the Republic of Atlasia asssembled

Section 1. Title

This legislation shall be cited as the Amendment to the Census Act - 2021.

Section 2. Amendment to the Census Act
 
1. Section 4.2 of the Census Act is hereby amended:

2. If a voter has been registered in more than one region over the previous one hundred and eighty fifty-six days, they cannot register outside the region they were most recently registered in.

2. This act shall be effective immediately upon passage.

This bill simply makes the Census Act consistent with the Constitution's requirement that a person must reside in a region for fifty-six days prior to participating in regional/subregional elections. One individual, and I think you all know whom I'm speaking of, will still have to sit out a few Senate elections if he desires to return to his home region. But this act is necessary to clarify when movements are valid and citizens are allowed to vote in these elections.

Section 4.2 has in fact already been repealed by the Federal Game Procedure Amendments Act which brought most of federal law in line with the constitution. That wiki page still needs to be updated; the amendments made by the FGPAA should be added.

Do you have a link to this law? I can't find it either on the wiki or the secular blog.

As a side note: the Constitution on the first page of the Wiki stil links to the Fourth Constitution. I tried fixing that, but I think only admins can edit that part.

So what is the period between moves then? The census sheet iirc had my eligible move date in April, meaning that Peebs was also operating under the old law.
