Committing mass murder via COVID apparently is a political winner. This country is doomed.

DeSantis and Rubio gotta bump from Surfside he isn't DeathDeSantis when he assisted people in a Trajedy, Demings like Tim Ryan are only down by 4 it's very hard for me to imagine Rubio underperforming DeSantis, as if Rubio goes down, so will DeSantis but in OH Maverick DeWine has Blk support and so does Brown and Ryan

OH has a Line Item veto that gets rid of Pork in budget that DeWine has, while leaving pet projects in the Bill

Crist is a Blue Dog too

fL has 40% Latino like Ca that's why Rubio is only 4 pts and Tim Ryan like Brown overperforms in OH

Say what you will about DeSantis' objectively bad leadership, but the state he runs is rewarding him for it. So can we really blame him for prioritizing his political ambitions and lib-triggering bona fides over competence when he has nothing to lose? That's on Floridians. And I used to say that he was their problem, but this pandemic obviously made that false, especially by now and especially when he might be the GOP's nominee in 2024. Also he affected me personally in his lax policies leading to my grandpa contracting the virus.

After all, GOP primary voters didn't vote for him on any rational basis for being a good governor. General voters, that's a different story as you say.

Florida will reelect DeSantis because of Crist & Fried being tremendously bad Candidates. Crist is a Party-Switcher and Fried is just Anti-DeSantis but brings nothing else to the table!

It probably won't be this lopsided, but DeSantis will be saved by Floriduh being Floriduh and 2022 being a good year for his party.

It’s beautiful to see some nice red avatar coping here, but I don’t understand how DeSantis is up 8-12 but Rubio is only up by 4, lmao.

Both win by 5-12, if I had to guess. But I don’t see how Rubio underperforms RDS.

I'm still optimistic we will hold DeSantis to a 3% margin max. There are way too many undecideds for this poll.

If, however, we're dealing with Covid to this degree by this time next year, and if there is another Delta-style variant, DeSantis will lose and might take down Rubio with him (Val Demings is not a push-over.) Flip flop Charlie isn't much better, but his record was not bad from 2006-10 when he held the same office.

DeSantis won in a Dem wave yr by .5 and all polls showed him losing to Gwen Graham let's take things in perspective he beat Andrew Gilliam, an Afro American socialist and he had a scandal,  not Charlie Crist and Crist lost narrowly in a R wave yr in 2014, +5R yr

Crist and Fried were leading in polls 53/47% before Afghanistan withdrawal, we can get back to that when D Build Back Better Agend is passed, it's wave insurance but don't underestimate Crist or Demings

This is why I still think the race is winnable for Democrats, especially if there is another variant this time next year that causes the deaths to spike. Sorry, but this is reality. DeSantis has been pretty reckless on the PR, but as others have said, he very well might pull it out despite that. No politician should be above criticism. I get the trump supporters see him as the heir apparent (and they do), but is it really worth it when people are dropping right and left?

Trump wasn't on the ballot in the 2018 midterms and yet the Republicans flipped 4 senate seats, including Florida by the way.

The economy in Florida is keeping doing well under DeSantis. In fact, since April 2020, 990 400 new jobs have been created. And people are going to attribute it to DeSantis' tax-cut, small government policies while his potential opponent Charlie Crist lost 832,000 jobs, worst in the nation and even worse than Ted Strickland who had the 48th job creation on 50 in the nation. As Governor, Crist also ran $5.2 billion in debt and slashed education funding by $1.39 billion.

And recently, Demings held a fundraiser hosted by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot who is a harsh supporter of sanctuary cities and who has, earlier this year, signed a measure removing all exceptions that allowed police to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That is radical and that is another example of Demings' reputation as a puppet of the Defund the Police movement. And some of her campaign funds come from outside Florida and from supporters of Defund the Police and Republicans will likely say "Don't let Defund the Police liberals buy Florida".
