Let’s say that by the end of the decade, the entire legal situation around abortion has flipped. It hasn’t gone the way of gay marriage where advocating for legal  abortion has fallen outside the Overton Window. Let’s say abortion is explicitly banned in 40-45 states and its in violation of a federal right to be born in the others. Support for pro-choice has fallen but only to about 45 to 50% from 55 to 60%. Instead of trying to repeal all these new laws, pro-choice advocates now support “chipping away” at the laws and jurisprudence. What do they do? Let’s say 2030 is  1980 or 1990 but backwards.

Heavily subsidize IUDs, to the point where women are encouraged to have one unless she's trying to get pregnant. Encourage people to focus on various other types of sex rather than piv when not prepared for pregnancy.

Basically get us in the position where basically no one has an unplanned pregnancy in the first place. Maybe sponsor trips to Mexico or Canada if feasible?

Uh, yeah, not going to happen. In the absence of Roe v. Wade you'd see heavy abortion restrictions (and even then not necessarily outright bans) in the deep south Bible Belt states + Utah and that's it.

Already about 18 states are planning on banning it, including some swing states… or at least former swing states.

Personally, I’d start with pre-natal child support and paternal liability for abortion unless the abortive father tried to stop it. Then maybe try to make funding for enforcement either harder or more exposed to the electorate. Maybe abortion courts that work the same as drug courts do?
