From the recent Canadian election where the liberal party has had 2 candidates in safe seats withdraw due to sexual assault allegations that preceded their nomination to the numerous lunatic who often run for state legislative offices in the united states and lunatic who get selected and often elected as MP's in the UK it seem there's almost no vetting for political party canidates.

What makes it so hard to vet people before they run for a party ?

Can't speak for other countries but in the United States, especially for state and local level races, the party doesn't pick the candidate and it comes down to whoever wins the primary. Often skeletons in their closet don't get revealed until afterward. The parties - especially in the United States - don't have the resources to do an extremely comprehensive background check on all their candidates.

Your average Party HQ is underfunded and understaffed and largely employs people who view their jobs as a stepping stone to something actually important and who certainly aren't paid well or granted sufficient job security to re-assess that view. Your average local party is run by a small group of pensioners who probably need assistance to turn a laptop on, let alone run even a basic search.

Gary Hart and Herman Cain were defeated by vetting.

Gary Hart and Herman Cain were defeated by vetting.

I mean, Hart was brought down by the fact that he encouraged journalists to follow him around as they would 'get bored' and carried on seeing his mistress anyway. That isn't vetting, that's an arrogant idiot falling flat on his face. Not that vetting is a useful concept in America's weird political system.

Because it's exactly expediency, they want to nominate the next in line just they assumed Biden had no baggage and Tara Reade scared off swing female votes that could of helped us with a bigger majorities in the H and S

If  Tara Reade or Hunter, Reade was after Biden clinched the nomination, vetted early, Bernie or Warren could of won the nomination, with Michael Moore

Biden was endorsed by Obama, not just Clyburn that propelled Biden to Nomination

Tara Reade was critical in ME and NC, Cunningham had a sex scandal of his own and ME where females pushed Collins over the top again, she is blocking VR that won't help her next time in 2026/ as Angus King is in full support of VR

Oh they're chosen specifically because of that.

This does seem odd considering the much greater capacity to do this today with technology. Political movements have become so cult-like that they feel to recognize any potential flaws someone might have as long as that person is on their side. At least that's my hypothesis.

What's stopping parties recruiting unpaid/lowly paid teenagers with tech skills and ideological devotion to do that instead?
