In the early 1970's the Gulf Stream shutsdown as a result Europe becomes much colder with Southern Europe having a climate similar to the North-East of the USA and Northern Europe like say Northern Quebec. Also there is a worldwide failure of the Monsoons in Central America, Northern Africa and Asia where annual rainfall falls by as much as 40%.
