Well it certainly won't be and isn't now "normal" by Massachusetts standards (ok, feel free to insert your favorite slam against Massachusetts here if you wish). Smiley

I'd vote for Patrick.

for 16 years it has been 'normal' for massachusetts to elect republican governors.

Correct, but Patrick is currently far ahead in the polls, and it is my belief that he will win, so in both cases support for and a vote for Patrick would by definition be normal.

Not that normal is always or even mostly good, of course, just pointing out that by definition the majority is normal.

In addition to Tester teaching "how to win a senate race as a Democrat", Patrick should teach "how to win a governor race as a Democrat".

I was just judging by the use of the word 'will' in the sentence that the two of you were certain that she would win, in which case I would suggest having your mental wellness evaluated. Wink

What has convinced you that Healey will get the 20-25 point swing she needs to even make this race competitive?

There have been two many Dems look strong for the MA's governor's race only to flop in the end.  It's 16 years of tradition and I'm not sure that it will end, Healey should be given more than a fighting chance

This argument is nonsense.  Ohio has had Republican governors for just as long, and look what's about to happen here too.

That's not exactly the best comparsion, Mitt Romney is not exactly Bob Taft, certainly Healey is in better shape than Blackwell

As well as Deano's point that Healey is actually doing worse than Blackwell, that wasn't really the point I was making.  Your argument that 16 years of continuous Republican administration in MA signifies a 'tradition' is ridiculous, even if you did say that you weren't sure if it'd now end.
