When Ia sk this you can put down any president you want. He can be as bad as Pierce, as boring as Filmore, or as wild as Clinton. This is who is your favorite U.S. President? Not based on greatness, but based on if you like a certain president and he is your favorite, than that's your answer.

My favorite president is Herbert Hoover. He was a self made millionaire who was in charge of feeding Belgium in 1917 under the Commitee to Relieve Belgium (CRB), in 1918-1920 he was in charge of the U.S. Food Bureau. As Secretary of Commerce from  1921-1928 he standardized sizes for lumber, metals, and other building materials. In 1927 he was in charge of relief efforts for the states hit by the Mississippi floods. He is a great man.

Reagan.  There were more right-wing presidents, but he was the furthest right compared to the political climate of his day.

George Washington.  Without his leadership during the revolution and afterward, this nation would not exist.  He had every oportunity to become a dictator or president for life, but he always resisted the temptation.  Something few politicians today could do.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

my personal favorite.

And he hated Herbert Hoover's guts because Hoover could make millions without inheriting it from his Dad.

Try not to laugh, my favorite president is Franklin Pierce (it's been that way for years!). Poor guy, do you realize all of his children died at early ages? Franklin Jr. died in infancy, Frank Robert died as a child, and Benjamin died at age 11 when he was killed in a train wreck as the Pierces traveled to Washington for the inauguration. All this made his wife Jane nearly go insane. Really makes you feel sympathetic for the guy. While he was in office he did the most honorable thing any president could do, he upheld the Constitution. Unfortunately since the poor idiot believed the Constitution validated slavery he would always be remembered as one of the bad presidents who brought on the civil war. Did you know his VP, William Rufus Devane King, died a few weeks after taking the oath of office and was so sick during that time that he never actually performed his duties as Vice President? Or that Pierce's best friend was none other than Nathaniel Hawthorne? For a great site about Pierce visit "The Pierce Pages" at  www.mindspring.com/~dbholzel/pierce/pierce.html

John Adams
Between him and George Washington we got off to a good start and didn't have to worry about excessive political violence or one coup d'etat after another like so many newly independent countries do.  We easily could have ended up with a country that today would be no better off than Brazil or fractured into many separate countries like New Spain did.

My favourite is obviously John F. Kennedy. A man who I can really admire.

He stood up to the Soviet Union for one, helped the US Economy grow significantly during his Presidency through several of the initiatives of the New Frontier which also helped with urban renewal. He cut taxes which promoted spending. He was an inspiring speaker. He was a World War II Hero despite not being fit enough to join the Armed Forces he managed to get in and during the crash of PT109 saved the lives of many of his crew, in fact, I believe all but one survived. Not to mention having a relationship with Marilyn Monroe Wink.

Ronald Reagan but a close second (AND MAY EVENTUALLY MAY BECOME MY FIRST) is George W. Bush. He has kept the economy up (WHICH PEOPLE ARE FINALLY NOTICING) and has liberated Iraq while getting a handle on terrorism.

He did not try and stop the southern states from seceding. He was upholding the constitution by allowing them to leave.

Well ok I guess you (being a states rights kinda guy) would like that but he said the situation with slavery in territories wasn't a big deal. The Dread Scott ruling was then reached saying that slaves were considered "property rights." He did little to discourage that because, as I stated earlier, he didn't think it was of much importance. As a result, the Civil War began. He was a terrible President.
