U.S. Representative Barbara Lee of California has announced that she will be running for Governor next year. Lee cited that fact that her constituents were being forced out by high costs of living and says that she will work to fix that as Governor. New Sen. Jason Carter (D-GA), who won a special election last month, was formally sworn in today. Carter's grandfather Jimmy Carter served as the 39th President between 1977 and 1981. Carter's inauguration switches control of the Senate to the Democrats, the second change this congress.
