How would Biden do against Bush and Perot?

President George Bush (R-TX) / Vice President Dan Quayle (R-IN)
Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) / Fmr. Governor Jim Blanchard (D-MI) ✓
Businessman Ross Perot (I-TX) / Admiral James Stockdale (I-IL)

Biden would be pretty comparable to Clinton as a youthful moderate, and although he would still appear labor-friendly, his vote for NAFTA would still give Perot an opening. Not sure if his 1988 aneurysm would raise concerns over his health, but probably not.

NAFTA wasn’t voted on until 1993.

Easy to forget since NAFTA was a big topic in the 1992 election. Was Biden's position clear at that time?

I don’t think Biden ever commented on it.

I don’t think Biden ever commented on it.

If he isn't explicitly for it, that could take a lot of wind out of Perot's sail.

The plagerism scandal of the '88 would've hurt him and most of those voters would've gone to Perot, giving Bush the upper hand, but '92 Biden was very similar to Clinton, other than Biden being pro-life. I'm not sure if Clinton ran on a pro-life platform, but he vetoed a partial-birth abortion ban while president, so at least he governed as someone who was pro-choice. However Biden seems like someone who would do better with senior citizens in Florida, especially considering he was from a Northeastern state.

Biden would have lost the entire South and the entire Mountain West.  Ohio and Missouri would have been crucial.

Probably doesn't win most of the Southern states Clinton won, but still wins comfortably. Anaphoric-Statism's map doesn't look too far off.

Why would Biden lose Nevada, Colorado, and New Hampshire?

Biden's a worse fit for the West than Clinton plus NH is a state Clinton barely won and Clinton is a much better campaigner than Biden so I have it to HW.
