Seriously the dumbest story in the world right now.  A guy wants to celebrate his 60th birthday, invites a few hundred people, follows all the standard COVID guidelines, but everyone's so obsessed that he has to scale it back.

Meanwhile Sturgis II just happened in South Dakota with 500,000 people and zero COVID guidelines and it gets 1/1000th the media coverage of Obama's birthday.  You may recall that Sturgis I turned into a super-spreader event, while Obama's 59th birthday party did not.

At the end of the day, it was his choice. Naturally it frustrates me as the Dems are criticizing mass gatherings but seemingly give Obama a free pass, but most of the guests were vaccinated and they required testing, so at least he was following the guidelines and not acting like other politicians who had a more for me and less for thee attitude.

Neutral. I can understand the criticisms about this birthday party, given who is in attendance, and given what has been said about other public gatherings. However, this is Obama's birthday party, not anyone else's, and he did adhere to public health guidelines by requiring for all of his guests to either be vaccinated or tested.
