Might this be a partisan 5-4 decision?

This extended eviction moratorium is just a face-saving measure on the administration's part to show progressives that they tried as hard as they could to extend it. Kavanaugh literally told, if not begged the House & Senate to be the ones to extend it legislatively, & they failed because moderate Democrats suck some real f**king ass sometimes. Short of Kavanaugh just unexpectedly doing a complete 180 here & reversing his position once it's ever time for him to either write &/or join an opinion on the actual merits of this, what's gonna end up happening here is that conservatives are gonna forum-shop it 'til they find a federal district judge in, like, TX who'll all-but-certainly issue a nationwide injunction that kills the extension, appeals are fast-tracked & stays are sought by the federal government before any landlords have the chance to start evicting, & then it hits SCOTUS on the shadow docket, where we have a very good idea of what'll happen there.

Biden's decision to extend the eviction moratorium and defy the courts while blatantly stripping away the rights of landowners is one of the most disgraceful actions I've ever witnessed a president do.

I pray that SCOTUS does the right thing.
