Right, started my game against Abdullah. Not a huge fan of ranking determining colors as I'm not actually a 1271 (last time I played a significant amount of games on Chess.com I peaked at around 1005, and my skill level now is more in the 800-900 range at most), but whatever. Good luck to y'all.

I have defeated Abdullah, for my first career Atlas Chess Tournament victory (and the first result of this competition)! Was definitely a fun matchup - got into a hole early but managed to trick my way out. Good game to Abdullah.

I think you needed to get rid of my bishop on the light squares before castling long. That bishop made my rook on the c-file especially powerful by cutting off the king's escape.

Yeah I was trying too hard to unpin my king, solving that problem only to walk into a discovered check. Also had issues dealing with how to get my pawn to e4 - kinda overthought that in retrospect.

I notice your rating did not change as a result of the game. Since ratings are used as a factor in pairings I have to keep track of them. Did you choose to not play for rating?

With your win you would have increased from 1255. It's of interest since NOVA Green at 1278 and oakvale at 1281 are now ahead of you based on their wins in round 3. It doesn't matter for final placements, but since all three have 2 points it will affect who is paired with whom in round 4.

I made a spreadsheet calculator using the Glicko algorithm used by chess.com. However, there are variables that I don't have access to, so the best I can do is guess. Since you haven't played many games your score can bounce quite a lot. My calculator came up with +50.

There's a slider bar in your settings to make the games rated.
