Was just about to ask how a forfeit affects both parties, but with Ishan dropping out that leaves TimTurner with a bye unless a new contestant steps in.

Maybe for the next round, muon, we can have an illustration of how the points are determined?

Are you interested in the tournament points or the chess.com rating points?

Have defeated Hockeydude on time. Good game.

Felt pretty close up until the end where I got some separation. Would have been a bit tough to convert though.

Another win for black, white has yet to win this round.

I notice your rating did not change as a result of the game. Since ratings are used as a factor in pairings I have to keep track of them. Did you choose to not play for rating?
I'm not 100% sure. I think HockeyDude sent the challenge but it's also possible I was being careless. Sorry!

My Blitz rating is probably more accurate though, if it helps. I am so not 1250 lmao

With your win you would have increased from 1255. It's of interest since NOVA Green at 1278 and oakvale at 1281 are now ahead of you based on their wins in round 3. It doesn't matter for final placements, but since all three have 2 points it will affect who is paired with whom in round 4.
Ah, sorry about that. Is there a calculator somewhere that can figure out the points after a 1255 defeats a 981?

I made a spreadsheet calculator using the Glicko algorithm used by chess.com. However, there are variables that I don't have access to, so the best I can do is guess. Since you haven't played many games your score can bounce quite a lot. My calculator came up with +50.

There's a slider bar in your settings to make the games rated.

Both the last two matches are currently ongoing and it looks like you will receive a bye. I think this round will be over soon.

I really enjoyed watching your game. There was a lot of back and forth with good moves one both sides. I think it came down to 24 ... Bxh4, where black had the choice of the h-pawn or the passed c-pawn. The passed pawn was too dangerous and became the deciding factor.

I was quite surprised by that - taking the h pawn was kind of pointless to the point where I hadn't given it any thought, and as it turned out the rook never got back into the action again after 25.

I didn't see 25... Nb3 after 25. Rxe7, which is why I didn't take the c pawn.

Friendly reminder to please play rated games. They are relevant in determining future match-ups.

I did see that but figured it didn't really matter since the bishop is covered and I can then cover one rook with the other.
I think I did not see that after 26 Rcc7 (or Rec7) Nxc7 (or Nxe7) your rook is also staring down at my poor bishop. You probably win after that.

If you're needing someone to step in as a replacement, I'd be willing to.
