Harry Kane, England's best player and one of the best players in the world, may want to join Manchester City with Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, in which could be a superteam of the ages...

On top of that they look likely to sign England midfielder Jack Grealish today.

If Manchester City doesn't repeat the success of Arsenal's 2003-2004 team, then they should probably fire Pep Guardiola.

This. This could be the 1998 Yankees or 1996 Bulls---greatness. Pep needs to check their egos---all of those guys are world-class players, internationally acclaimed (Kane, Sterling, De Bruyne, Grealish)

Man City's first XI is still not as good as PSG's with their summer additions, especially if they can bag Theo Hernandez. And is Man City even better than Chelsea? I don't think so, except perhaps in depth.

If you want to see a super team, look at Ancelotti's Milan sides. I mean, just look at how disgustingly good this team was:

Of course, they lost to to that Liverpool team of Stevie G and 10 farmers... (okay, Xabi Alonso was good too) Doesn't make Man City or PSG's failures in the Champions League look so bad by comparison.

In a similar vein, I’ve always found this photo amusing (to think this was only the bench!):

What year was this?

The greatest soccer player alive, Lionel Messi, has ended ties with FC Barcelona, after 17 years.

https://www.mediaite.com/sports/breaking-global-soccer-icon-lionel-messi-leaving-barcelona-after-17-years/

Quote
Where will Messi land? Well, that’s the question on every soccer head’s mind at the moment. Given his outsized largesse, he will demand — even at this late stage of his career — a lot. The clubs that can afford him are likely those owned by mega-wealthy Emirates and/or oligarchs. So Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG, and perhaps Man United are the likeliest destinations.

If he goes to Manchester City to join Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne, it could be the greatest soccer team in HISTORY and one of the greatest sporting teams of all time.....same thing if he goes to Manchester United, the mighty Utd. to join Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, again one of the GREATEST squads.....

Messi to the MLS is probably not gonna happen but would be very funny, especially because he'd be playing in a country that Ronaldo is legally unable to enter

Hold up.....please explain to me why Cristiano Ronaldo is not allowed to enter the United States, when I think he has apartments in NYC, what is happening?

He allegedly raped a woman and then paid her a massive sum of money to sign an NDA. It's an ongoing story; it's why Juventus didn't play any exhibition matches in the US a couple years ago, for instance.

Oh boy, this stains Ronaldo's legacy if true. One of the greatest ATHLETES doing this? Wow.

https://apnews.com/article/soccer-courts-sports-434c9153700b4cedb435a1a6c10ff1da

Other than that, Messi should come to play for Major League Soccer. North American soccer needs a boost. If David Beckham and Robbie Keane can do it, so can Messi.

He should come play in Miami---he would draw a lot of crowds from the Latin American area---and Florida has no income tax. Messi would be beloved, he'd draw more crowds than the Heat, Dolphins and Marlins combined.

In other news, Jack Grealish is now a member of Manchester City.

Grealish's England teammate, Jadon Sancho, who was racially abused after England's Euro 2020 loss signed with Manchester United, joining his England teammate Marcus Rashford a few weeks ago

Why doesn't Harry Kane come to play in the US, he should play for the LA Galaxy, it would give American soccer a boost.

Is he healthy?

That's the big question. People are worried about his heart.

Unfortunately for the MLS and the Galaxy, his poor English ability limits his marketability.

What poor English ability? He can't speak properly?

Super cups obviously don't matter that much, but Villareal did a really good job to come back into the game against Chelsea. Granted, not a full-strength Chelsea team, but still a strong team on paper.

What's going on with Harry Kane? They said he's hurting over people portraying him in a different light.

Where does he end up?

One of the greatest athletes of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus, Italy and go to another team.

Some think Ronaldo could come to Manchester City's already super-talented roster of Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish....

Can MC afford Kane and Ronaldo? Imagine that lineup? That would top 1998-99 Manchester United and 2003-04 Arsenal as the top superteams of all time!!! Won't that run the risk of too much egos? Think the 2011 Boston Red Sox collapse....

These were not superteams by any stretch of the imagination. Late 80s-to-early 90s Milan, early-to-mid 2000s Milan, both Galacticos teams, PSG right now, Barcelona of the late 00s... those are superteams.

Man City is just a very good team. Their current transfer policy does not involve buying Galactico-type players, and neither did the other teams you mentioned. Of all the English clubs, it's probably Manchester United that come closest to adopting a superteam strategy, and look where that's taken them.

2003-04 Arsenal was good....Thierry Henry, Reyes, Ashley Cole, etc. that was a superteam. 2003-04 Arsenal was undefeated, probably the best team in ages...

Harry Kane is staying with Tottenham Hotspurs for one more year, probably similar to Aaron Rodgers staying with Green Bay Packers of the NFL...

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/harry-kane-i-will-stay-at-tottenham-this-summer-m2xmdq6v0

His biggest objectives are to win a trophy with them, win the World Cup in '22/26 for the English and the Euros in 2024....

He's a great player, he should have a lot of success.....we'll see....

Nobody wants Kane at a £150m valuation. We're talking about a guy who isn't even that young and is injured half the time. Lukaku just sold for £97.5m, and Mbappe is reported to be available for £171m, albeit for much higher wages. Haaland enters the market next year for £64m, although his (and fat Mino's) wage demands will be insane and possibly beyond what English clubs other than Man Utd would be willing to pay.

He's 28....he's young, but he is getting up there....and he needs to win trophies....he's one of England's best players, I enjoy watching him play, he needs titles.....

We will see....

I agree that he should be playing for a better team than Tottenham, but it is what it is for him.

I think next year he should try to force a move away though as I think it will basically be his last chance.

I can't see Tottenham winning any trophies for the forseeable future. This is probably their worst squad in over a decade, and they didn't manage to win any while they actually had a good team.

What year in the Kane era do you think they could have won the PL? In 2018-19 when they got to the UEFA final with Son, Eriksen (before his health scare) and Llorente?

That 820,000 pounds per week is still less than what Kane is going to make wherever he goes, assuming anyone bids for him.

Literally every single post you make in this thread (and elsewhere) is basically the exact opposite of reality. Do you know how many players earn that much in wages? That territory is reserved for Ronaldo, Neymar and Messi. Not even Mbappe earns that much at PSG, although he's been offered close to that amount in his contract renewal. In Ronaldo's case, Fiat subsidizes his wages, and all three of them have massive worldwide commercial appeal that is at least an order of magnitude greater than Kane's. (Just for comparison, fallen stars like Mesut Ozil, James Rodriguez, Isco, Gareth Bale, and Philippe Coutinho all have far more social media followers than Kane)

No club is going to pay Kane (or Haaland, for that matter, at least not now) anywhere near that much, especially not if they have to pay £100m+ to get him. About £400k p/w in line with other top earners in England is his max earning potential. Bale is on £600k at Madrid, but a) Real Madrid is Real Madrid, b) he is a Galactico, and c) he was (and is) more marketable than Kane. For reference, the most marketable British players going forward are probably Sancho and Mount.

Sancho over Rashford? Really?

As for Mount, you are right on that. That's my favorite British soccer player right now, Mason "Money Mase" Mount....he's cool and he has swag......

As for American players overseas, what about Christian Pulisic of Chelsea?

I think that goes to Declan Rice. Will be England Captain in a year or two, easily.

You don't think Kane stays on? He's called Captain Kane for a reason, he is seen as stable, reliable and caring.....

You can add Henderson on that list as well....

Yeah I think Kane will be on the England team for another 5 years, I don't see why he'd get thé captaincy stripped from him.

It's do or die for Kane, he has to win the World Cup for England in '22 and titles for his own legacy......he must be hurting that Ronaldo is coming to Man City.

Ronaldo will make Man City champs. He just wants to win. Period. Win. Win. Win.
