Yeah, I support medical marijuana (like legit medical marijuana, not what was going on in California) but the rush to legalize has led to an overcorrection and a Wild West situation. It'll be hard to roll back legalization, but government policies will surely become more restrictive as time goes on.

While some advocates do downplay the negative impacts it can have (especially on people under 25), this is mostly a pushback to the ridiculous 'reefer madness' reactions prior.

Tobacco is way more harmful than Marijuana and it’s accepted because it was pushed in the past as a “fancy” European stuff to do, with important people in films doing it.

Marijuana otoh was always pushed as this stuff that only poor people did, losers or retards (because of the effects in the moment). But it’s not nearly as damaging as tobacco, it’s just the social stereotype constructed surrounding it didn’t allow people to see it with good eyes like they did with Tobacco.

I have no idea why it was even popular to begin with - the stuff smells like death

It's possible to take it in edible or tincture form which doesn't have a smell.

oh, lol

Is creating another tobacco industry really something people want ?
And who are other people to decide what others should do with their lives.

If i want to smoke tobacco and die earlier than supposed to be, yes than that's totally fine. It's MY CHOICE. just like if a woman decides to do an abortion, it's her choice.

I always thought the same. My least favorite part of college was easily having to smell that horrendous stench everywhere I went. I would prefer marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco to become much less accepted overall. Tricky part is that, as Prohibition demonstrated, simply outlawing them is not effective as a means to do so.
