I was just thinking about this the other day after seeing the Cartman vs Stewie thread.

Family Guy is over-rated and has been monopolised by stupid 15 year olds. I'll take Homer.

We'd have a President that knew something about "Nucular" power.

Ahh, quite an interesting race, I will use blue for Peter is he most likely a Republican (see mention of episode w/two symbols of GOP, Chris's joining the Young Republicans, and Lois's reluctance to gay marriage).  Homer would probably be the Democrat (even though he supported Monty Burns over Mary Bailey) because of Marge and Lisa.  Due his father, Peter sweeps the bible belt and other conservative areas.  His humor appeals to moderates, but the lack of intelligence in the candidate and Homer's ties to Monty Burns cause a lot of people to stay home.

The race goes to the house

If I remember rightly, Homer Simpson is pretty much a conservative-leaning independent.  He supported Perot in 1992 (he had an old T-shirt with the slogan "Stockdale for Veep" on it).  While Marge and Lisa may well be Democrats (or Green in Lisa's case), Homer has voted for at least three Republicans; Monty Burns for Governor, Sideshow Bob for Mayor, and Krusty the Clown for Representative.  He also grumbled "lousy Democrats" in one episode.  However, usually he just doesn't bother to vote at all.

I dunno... Politically, both tend to be right-leaning, although Homer has some liberal tendancies, such as his bad-mouthing of Dubya, his "support" for gay marraige, and his mostly social liberal outlook, he would definately be an economic conservative.

Peter Griffen, undoubtedly matches the Republican Party, although he is pretty liberal on drugs, lol. However, as he has stated, he is "One of the symbols of the Republican Party: A Big, fat white guy, who's threatened by change..."

Actually, I would have to go with Homer, because he's very tenacious and dedicated when he wants to be. Peter is just a moron.

Notwithstanding, I would really want to see a Brian Griffen Presidency.

Peter's almost certainly a Democrat, being a blue-collar worker from Rhode Island who constantly digs at the Republicans.  Lois could go either way being quite wealthy.

Peter's father is as religious as they come, and Peter always wants to emulate his father

Peter would win easily.  He's won elections in the past and has a knock for making his idiocy seem brilliant.  The best part would be Fargas for Sec of Education!

there were also 1 or 2 episodes demostrating the hypnotic effect of Fox News on his political thought ;-)
