In the Doral, FL area? Is there a rift between Afro-Latinos and white Latinos like white Cubans and Afro-Cubans?

I can't speak to South Florida, but in Houston, the Venezuelan immigrant community is very Republican.

Many of them initially came here to work in the oil industry for PDVSA, the Venezuelan state oil company. When Chavez came to power, he fired many of the company's technical staff because they were insufficiently partisan, and replaced them with party hacks who often had no qualifications for the jobs.

They often stayed here and found work for other oil companies. They blame Chavez for the state their country is in, and see the GOP as the party that unequivocally denounces Chavez, Chavismo and Maduro.

They aren't wrong his party hacks has run the company and by extension the rest of the economy into the ground. It's a shame they can't see that the GOP's plan for americas civil service too.

White venezolanos, colombianos, Brazilians, Nicaraguans... It's an interesting pattern to some, but makes a lot of sense to me because the GOP is the racism party and many white ppl from Latin America are very racist which btw has about as much to do with their hatred of Hugo Chavez as whatever story we are all just gonna pretend is correct (but historically and factually is not) about him ruining their petrostate

Venezuelans and Colombians are fairly Republican, though not as conservative as Cubans.

The Venezuelan community in the US is very small (although growing for obvious reasons) so it's very hard to find data on this unless you work for local parties or polling firms who specialize in Latino voters (Bendixen & Amandi comes to mind).

It's always lovely to see people who know nothing about what they are talking about speak with such confidence lmao.
