I'm admittedly biased, but it would be hard to convince me right now that Georgia isn't the best team in the country.

The same Georgia team that beat a mediocre Clemson team by all of seven points?

In a game that really wasn't as close as the score might suggest?  A game that was a season opener on the road in one of the most hostile stadiums in the country?  And the team that today beat the #8 team 37-0?  Yes, that team.

Nobody really thought Arkansas was a top 10 team. Still, shutting out an SEC team not called Vandy is an excellent win.

I was unaware that the Carolina Panthers' home stadium in Charlotte is one of the most hostile stadiums in the country.

Oops, fair enough.  I had forgotten that it wasn't a true road game.

Anyway, Arkansas is a nice story and all, but there's a reason that they were projected to finish second to last in the SEC West. Until I have reason to think otherwise, I'm going to say that the best team in the country is Alabama.

Does anyone have a picture of the "We Want Vandy" sign that a Mizzou fan held up?

Faux Irish finally get the loss they deserve, and it wasn't particularly close.

Stanford-Oregon going to OT after the Cardinal score on an untimed down with no time left, after a PI call in the end zone on 4th and goal.  Oregon has tried very hard to give this game away, and they might succeed.

Very excited to see how the committee twists itself around to keep Cincinnati out of the playoff.

Cincinnati's chances just got a bit better as the Pac-12 once again cannibalizes itself.

So far JGibson is making up for last week; he's at 14-4, followed by a five-way tie at 11-7.

Kentucky makes a goal-line stand at the end to hold off Florida, 20-13.

Clemson and Boston College tied 13-13 in the 3rd quarter, this is why I included it in pick em, Clemson remains vastly overrated lol

Boston College almost beat Clemson as they were all the way down to the Clemson 11 with less than a minute left, but fumbled the snap, sad!

Mesmerizing day for the FCS top 10. What a great way to cap it off with a near game-winning touchdown pass from #4 Montana's freshman back-up QB coming in cold but near won't do it! #6 EWU storms their beautiful field!

#1 Sam Houston got a late touchdown to narrowly defeat their chief rival, 21-20. Shocking that it was this close.
#3 James Madison snuck past #21 New Hampshire in a sneaky road game, 23-21. With how weak Delaware and Rhode Island have looked against inferior competition, this may very well set up James Madison hosting the de facto conference title game next week.
#5 North Dakota State definitely hasn't looked like their old dynasty, but they narrowly held off the sudden power shift to #10 North Dakota a little longer with an ugly road win, 16-10.

#12 UC-Davis was given a surprising fright but ultimately prevailed. That's five great backup tv games once the FBS headliners disappointed!

#9 Jacksonville State also got embarrassed, but I think everyone knows this team should not be in the top 25 and is only here thanks to the Seminoles' brain lapse.

WEEK 5 RESULTS

JGibson bounced back to win the week at 17-8, a game ahead of New York Express.  Full results:

17 JGibson
16 NY Express
15 Donerail
14 Dereich, GeorgiaModerate, Illiniwek, Terry
13 Dingo Joe
12 ExtremeRepublican

There were 5 unanimous picks:

Alabama-Ole Miss
Northern Illinois-Eastern Michigan (skipped by one player)
Oregon-Stanford (wrong)
Oklahoma-Kansas State
UCLA-Arizona State (wrong)

And 4 games with a single dissenter; the dissenter was wrong on all but Minnesota:

Iowa-Maryland
Georgia-Arkansas
Michigan-Wisconsin
Purdue-Minnesota

Donerail has pulled into a tie with Dereich for the overall lead.  Year to date (125 games):

77 Dereich, Donerail
75 NY Express
74 Terry
73 GeorgiaModerate
70 ExtremeRepublican
64 JGibson
58 Illiniwek
47 Dingo Joe
12 Orwell

Some trivia: ,

- The winning score has been 17 or 18 every week so far
- Every week has had a sole winner (no ties for first)
- There have been no repeat winners

If Kentucky isn’t not only ranked, but ranked in the top 10 after this, we riot. We just shut down a Florida team that came within 2 points of beating Bama!

Although FiveThirtyEight’s ELO respects us at least; it now has us as the fifth best team in the country. Fake news journalists just can’t accept the fact that this is a VERY different Kentucky now though!
