The new SEC, same as the old SEC.

9-6 Alabama late in the Third Quarter.

This has not been a display of offensive fireworks.

As soon I post that, UGA breaks a 67-yard run!

Four field goals for Bama.

You didn't f***ing deserve the Heisman. And don't tell me it's because his top receivers are out. If he was depending on having top receivers, then he was not a Heisman caliber QB.

Perfect encapsulation of Alabama football. Dude who can barely read grabs a ball that bounced incomplete and it's inexplicably ruled a fumble recovery. F*** college football.

Alabama losing, especially in the NC, is responsible for some of the biggest moments of elation in my life as a sports fan. Amazing! And great Heisman performance from Bryce, lol.

ISTR some of you laughed at me for this:

I'm admittedly biased, but it would be hard to convince me right now that Georgia isn't the best team in the country.

I can't tell you how much this means to us long-suffering Georgia fans.  Not only winning the national championship, but to win it over the Evil Empire.  (And all this on top of the Braves' improbably World Series season!)

Congratulations to Donerail on winning the pick'em outright.  I'll post the final standings tomorrow.  I've never been so happy to lose a contest in my life.  Cheesy

Ohio State won the only game that matters, too. Smiley

Congrats on a great season! I do not like the SEC but I hate Alabama more than any other team (except the two I rail against on here all the time) so I'm happy to see a team get a long-time-coming victory against them.

And, I believe this proves my SECCG tank theory correct. I will now accept my accolades Wink

I was right someone did win outside of Alabama, it's about time just like this yr the BUCS won't be in SUPERBOWL, hopefully the Rams or Niners against Chiefs or Titans, Niners can beat a Packers and Rams can beat Bucs in Divisional round

*** FINAL PICK'EM RESULTS ***

Congratulations to Donerail, who was the outright pick'em winner thanks to Georgia's national championship (ooh, it's fun to type that).  If Alabama had won, he and I would have tied for first.  The final standings:

234 Donerail
232 GeorgiaModerate
228 Dereich, NYE
226 Terry
208 Illiniwek
205 JGibson
201 ExtremeRepublican
92 Dingo Joe
24 Orwell

Oddly, I think we also finished 1-2 a couple of years ago.

COVID has much less of an effect than last year.  We lost only one regular season game and a few of the bowls.

JGibson won or shared first place the most weeks (three), but finished well back in the pack due to some bad weeks.  Dereich, Donerail, Illiniwek, Terry, and I won twice, while Dingo Joe, ExtremeRepublican, and NYE did it once each.  However, NYE's sole weekly win was the best result of the season.  The top three:

1. 20-5 (.800) by NYE in week 6.
2. 16-5 (.762) by GeorgiaModerate in the post-Christmas Bowls.
3. 19-6 (.760) three times: JGibson in week 8, Terry in week 9, and Donerail in week 10.

Thanks to everyone for playing.  It's been fun!

Doubtful that the Pac-12 ever makes the playoff again under the 4-team format

I mean the top tier quality of the conference likely will be the best since the early 2010s with USC on their way back up

Star Alabama Wide Reciever and likely NFL Draft prospect Jameson Williams tore his ACL in the National Championship Game.

My guess is we are going to start seeing players in line to get drafted to the NFL start opting out of the playoff.
