Surely the best way to help the struggling people of Cuba is to bomb the hell out of their homes, hospitals, businesses, and farms. We definitely shouldn't end the embargo that has choked the Cuban economy for 50 years and is the main reason why the Cuban people continue to live in poverty. War hawks are actually mentally ill, and the sooner politicians stop pandering to far-right lunatic Cuban exiles in Florida who got kicked out for collaborating with the US-backed fascist Batista regime, the better.

Cuban Americans are Republican-leaning, but other than Florida and New Jersey, it does not make a difference.

If America bombs Cuba, Biden loses the far left base.....

Moderate Democrats like Bob Menendez probably supports this too....

Air strikes for what? They aren't a threat to this country.

Good idea. This is a million times more feasible than waging war in the Middle East, as it is right to our South.

Implying the Castro regime is any better than the Batista regime?

Outcomes on life expectancy in Cuba are excellent for a developing country so clearly they did something right.

If the standard for military action is simple an autocratic government, you need to declare war on two thirds of the world. Not the smartest idea I kinda guess.

It would be a great gesture of recconciliation toward the people of Florida.  Biden should do it simply to lock down FL in 2024.

The Mayor of Miami wants to embroil the United States in yet another war. I don't agree with that. I think the Biden Administration should make its support for the protesters clear and explicit, but we need to avoid military conflict at all costs.

Batista was no better than Castro, but conservatives tend to ignore that because Batista wasn't communist. It's the same thing with Pinochet, he was horrible, but conservatives applaud him simply because he overthrew a Marxist President (who was democratically elected).

Conservatives always ignore the Batista regime's corruption and anti-democratic practices because it mostly benifited Criollos and Americans. Like pre-Castro Cuba was just fancy cars and boutique casinos.

Is Atlas ever going to find the happy medium between "Miami Cubans are American heroes fighting for their homeland's freedom and we should listen to them uncritically" and "Miami Cubans are universally irredeemable bigots who should be deported for voting for Trump"?

Well this autocratic government happens to be just 90 miles off our shores, which has always complicated things somewhat.

Many Miami-Dade Cubans really seem truly deranged when it comes to how much they resent their home country.

My ancestors came from the Russian Empire, fleeing because of the pogroms, yet I cannot imagine devoting so much of my mental energy to obsessing over Russia in a manner equivalent to this.

Not a fan of bombing Cuba, but between the ability to completely cut cut off the Cuban military from outside support, the lack of tribes, and the different religious demograhics, settlement patterns and geography it's pretty difficult to imagine this turning into a disaster.
