Sure, money alone doesn't decide election, but the threats to democracy are real.

Anything can happen in 500 days, just note that, D's can still keep the H why would Sir Mohommad put up a post about how much the Rs have raised and they haven't won the NPVI since 2016, users act like Rs have won every Election cycle and they have not

We still have 509 days any wave in Senate can cause the H to go again D D's are looking at OH, NC and MO and IA and AK with Ryan, Beasley, Nixon Fink and Gross

WI and PA are Lean D Takeover with Mandela Barnes and Fetterman

How much of it has already gone to Trump hotels and entities? They can raise as much money as they want but they won't take the House because there aren't enough rural seats out there for them to flip and they have a bigger defense list than the opposition party usually has.

And I'm gonna pray that a very controversial Republican is elected in 2028 so I can party like its 2030.  lol

Not going to have concern until the new districts are in and the primaries are over. We're still over a year away from the elections. Early fundraising isn't a wholly-reliable indicator of performance.

I would be a hypocrite if I panicked at this because I am now a firm believer that fundraising doesn't mean diddly-s*** anymore. But then again, maybe that's only true for Democrats because that's how things always tend to be.

Fundraising is a great asset but it can only do so much if not paired with genuine momentum for your own party or against the other. If there's a growing discomfort with the progressive excess of the current Democratic congress, and I think there is, then this will help Republicans a lot. If Republicans blow it and turn the whole 2022 cycle into another referendum on whether or not we should worship Donald Trump, then their fundraising money will mean a lot less.

I do wonder how much of this came from Peter Thiel (who is publicly trying to become the party's next financial puppetmaster).

I would say this is a bad sign for dems (obviously), but it's pretty doomerist to talk about this while completely ignoring the pretty good quarter the dems have had with fundraising

I think we had enough evidence in past few years that money alone doesn't win you elections. Otherwise, ask Senators Jaime Harrison, Amy McGrath and Beto O'Rourke. It's not even necessarily an indicator about energy on the ground since this money most likely is from a handful of donors writing big checks. And of course, the Democrats should take nothing for granted and improve on their messaging.

Don't get your hopes up too much. It'll be a Republican year, but 2010 will never be replicated in these divided times. Polarization can bite your party too, you know.

I’m well aware of that my friend.

I was simply reacting to SnowLabrador saying it would be a red wave year. I don’t understand why he seems more optimistic about Republican chances in the elections than the Republican users here themselves.

I'm actually really depressed. Biden needs to pass something substantive ASAP or I think we might actually be at risk for a 2010/14 style blow out. The mood is miserable. COVID is back. We are basically in a cultural civil war. This is not the time for a septuagenarian, back-slapping, corporate figurehead of a POTUS and yet here we are... hopefully the memory of how embarrassing Trump was keeps some ppl enthused out of fear, but were I JRB I would not bet on it...
