Sorry OSR, could have sworn this didn't say primaries at first but I probably just overlooked it. You got most of mine right by the way. I actually supported Obama in 2008 but would now support Clinton with hindsight. Not sure about 2004. That was one where I was too young to vote and didn't pay too much attention to the primaries so just kinda supported Kerry by default.

I don't think he would have voted for Humphrey in 68 because virtually nobody voted for Humphrey in the 68 primaries, he had a bunch of "favorite son" surrogates running on his behalf in various states but even they tended to get only 10-15% of the vote.

Just sort of a guess tbh, you seem to be a fairly progressive Democrat but not quite in Sanders territory so I kind of thought Warren would fit the bill. I could be wrong though.

Carter campaigns wouldn't appeal to someone like me if I was transported into 76/80, nor does he fit the kind of the names of insurgent progressive candidates suggested here. Gary Hart is well to the right of me on economics even though he fits with the people named here.
