Is there some where that I kind found out how this all works (FAQ)?
I don't plan on joining the fantasy gov't but I was curious how it is set up.
I noticed the two party thread for example. Is the current system like a parliamentary one where you have a coalition gov't made up of various parties?
I was interested because in real life I would prefer that to the way we have it now, where we have few choices and there isn't a lot of 'power to the people'.

I am changing the title of this thread to FAQ.

Well, there are four major parties the last time I knew: ACA, SDP, ILP, FDP... The wiki page has all of thier info... even if it is maybe a little out of date, I haven't been there in awhile, myself.

thanks for the response...
so how many viable parties are there here?

I don't think any party here actually matters in the scheme of things. Party endorsements don't matter, you don't need party endorsements to gain ballot access, and parties don't have anything to do with actually governing.

For example, you'll see the latest disagreements between the three SDP members in the Senate. If parties mattered, you'd expect the three of them to hold party line.

Well, I'm an SDP'er... And, we really don't disagree on much... Some of us are more liberal on things, some of us a little more conservative... In the Senate, we vote our conscience, and that's what you're supposed to do in the real Senate.

Well, the SDP has broken into two sub-parties: "The SDP" and "Northeast for JerusalemCar"

Well man, your matrix score is indicitive of pretty liberal views. I'd like to suggest three parties that might be a good fit for you: Socialist, SDP, or you could be a more liberal ILP member.

The AFEWiki is mainly used for record keeping and history, including government officials, parties, and citizens. However, I see you have started your own party. Obviously, we have fallen way behind on updating the wiki.

My matrix scores are light years from describing the me that nobody knows.
It would be easier to describe color to a blind woman than use these limited scores to tell you what I'm all about. Mere words with shallow meanings will never do it.

18th to 21st October. Election is for tickets of President+VP, and is done by Instant Runoff Voting. (ie, you list your preferences, in order. Candidates with fewest first preferences are eliminated in turn until someone crosses 50%)

Find yourself a running mate, file in the Candidate Declaration Thread, and get said running mate to file as well.

How long is the (President's) term for?
Can my running mate be from the same state as I am?
If I change my name or the name of my party do I have
to post it in the register thread?
How much does the job (of President) pay?

If you want the SoFA to pay attention to the party name change, yes. As for name, in order not to have to keep track of every Display Name change, I'm going by username (tmcusa2 in your case) anyways.

Uh... I have no idea. No RL money, though. Smiley
