Probably quite a well-known (not necessarily popular) right-winger who wants to make a point at every opportunity. Also, someone who lives in a state with decent ballot access.

Gritz explicitly denounced the Klan, and refused to be David Duke's running mate in 1988, but was certainly cozy with the Christian Identity movement and sundry conspiracy theorists. I don't think that one would need to be an outright skinhead to support Gritz, just both hard-right and suspicious of the federal government and foreign intervention.

I meant a reactionary voter who normally votes GOP, but thinks Ford/McCain/Romney were too moderate, and also became more conservative with age, even rejecting Trump.
