https://medlifestyle.news/2021/06/17/in-controversial-plan-world-health-organization-suggests-women-aged-18-to-50-should-stop-drinking-alcohol/

Quote
After stating that women of reproductive age should not consume alcohol, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been accused of sexism.

Women aged 18 to 50 should cease consuming alcohol, according to the WHO’s draft global alcohol action plan for 2022-2030, since it may harm their chances of delivering children.

The action plan says: “Appropriate attention should be given to the prevention of the initiation of drinking among children and adolescents, prevention of drinking among pregnant women and women of childbearing age”.

It adds, “One of the most dramatic manifestations of harm to persons other than drinkers is pre-natal alcohol exposure and the development of foetal alcohol spectrum disorders.”

Poor development, unusual facial characteristics, and learning and behavioral difficulties can all be symptoms of children exposed to alcohol while still in the womb. Such dangers, according to the proposal, could be publicized through an international “world no alcohol day/week.”

Christopher Snowdon of the Institute of Economic Affairs claimed the advice was “unscientific, patronising and absurd” and “classic World Health Organization idiocy.”

Well this is an overreaction, you can just stop when you're actually pregnant or even if you're actively trying to conceive. But there seems to be a real movement recently with feminist sites telling people "OMG, you're a #girlboss you can drink when you're pregnant" which is not good. Fetal alcohol poisoning is an actual diagnosable thing, it's not just a correlation. IDK what it being "unfair" as some have said has to do with anything, the man isn't the one carrying the kid inside of him, that's just reality. Alcohol related birth defects have increased in the US in recent years so you're starting to see more people flaunt it.

Well, from a strict health perspective we probably should all stop drinking alcohol.

Take your pan-Islamist mullah rhetoric elsewhere.

Americans be like, “They mean 21-50? 18-20-year-olds die from a single sip of beer.”

This is why people get critical of the WHO, and at one of the worst possible times, no less. This is a clear-and-cut case of Health Nazism.

What about women who, get this, don't want children? They exist, you know!

Seems pretty obvious they should carve out an exception for women who have IUDs, are on the pill, or are not sexually active.
