Since some of the leaders on the old chart have died (Pope John Paul), are in coma (Sharon), in jail (Saddam) or at least out of office (Schröder, Berlusconi, Martin), the Political Compass updated his International Chart. What do you say? How screwed up is it now? And one question boggles me: Why the hell is Aznar still on the Chart? Wink

Why do you think the chart is screwed?

It's just my experience that many people think that they're charts are screwed. Wink

And they also have a EU government chart, which looks a bit odd:

Just the fact that every single European Government is placed as an economic rightist shows how flawed that graph is.

Well, according to the Political Compass site it was last updated on September 1, 2006... not April 1, 2006. Wink

Wow what does it take to get onto the economically left portion of the chart in the minds of the Political Compass people? Out and out Democratic Socialism? Communism?

Jesus Tapdancing Christ if that chart uses the same scale as the Political Compass does I have the same economic score as the Finnish government and Jacques Chirac.

I seriously do consider that these Political Compass people have their heads up their asses. This is the biggest piece of tripe to come out of Britain since tripe itself.

*breaks out laughing*

The Italian goverment that includes communists is to the right of France's economically? Zapatero's government is to the right of France's and more authoritarian than Austria's? The Swedish government is centrist?

But the funniest thing on here so far is that it has Olmert as more authoritarian than Mugabe.

I think these charts are highly accurate in that they recognize the fact that virtualy ALL governments in the world today are right-wing.

After all, Sweden is Capitalist, people.

It is just a matter of degree how oppressive these moderate to extreme fascists are.

The socialist wellfare-"hell" of Denmark to the right along with the Nederlands. Hilarious. I wonder what kind of criteria they use and I wonder why they bother to use Mugabe. That guy is nothing internationally,- and Mandela. Mandela is a pensionist. Why not Gorbatjov or Reagan! Grin

You're an alligator Wink, but like most people Bush probably has been put too far to the right, especially on the economic scale.

I don't take their charts too seriously anymore, they have New Labour as more authoritarian than Robert Mugabe FFS!

Tony Blair's social score is about right for New Labour IMO.
