If you lock him up, forget 1/6, it'll be 1776.

Wait, which side is which?

DOJ explanation of what the "conspiracy to deprive rights" charges mean: https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/civil-rights/federal-civil-rights-statutes#:~:text=Title%2018%2C%20U.S.C.%2C%20Section%20241%20%2D%20Conspiracy%20Against%20Rights

Quote
Title 18, U.S.C., Section 241 - Conspiracy Against Rights
This statute makes it unlawful for two or more persons to conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person of any state, territory or district in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him/her by the Constitution or the laws of the United States, (or because of his/her having exercised the same).

It further makes it unlawful for two or more persons to go in disguise on the highway or on the premises of another with the intent to prevent or hinder his/her free exercise or enjoyment of any rights so secured.

Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to ten years, or both; and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years, or for life, or may be sentenced to death.

This kind of sounds like he's being charged with conspiring to intimidate the Congress via the riot, but I'm not quite sure if I'm reading that right.

I assumed the rights being deprived would be the voters whose chosen result would not be acknowledged via elector shenanigans/coup or otherwise, but I have not read the full indictment. Is "conspiracy against the United States" (or to defraud the United States) specifically against government officials, or is government policy included?

Perhaps it's having to do with depriving the voters of rights, that might plausibly qualify as conspiring to "oppress" them.

Indictment states Trump (through his aides) tried to use the violence at the Capitol to argue that night to lawmakers that they should put off the certification. (election was not certified until just after 3 AM)

So how long will it take for the other co-conspirators to be indicted? And will they all share a cell?

May well not be until after Trump's trial.

The reason for that is it would avoid the risk that the judge might combine their cases and that could slow things down if it were to happen.

It seems like Jack Smith has his eye on Trump and is focused on that above all else.

Not a big surprise but Smith confirmed he will seek a speedy trial under the Speedy Trial Act, and that's a lot more likely to happen in this case because there are no classification logistics to work through and moreover the DC circuit has gotten fed up with Trump's delaying tactics.

So how long will it take for the other co-conspirators to be indicted? And will they all share a cell?

They will probably all be charged at once and it might be a while from now. (months? maybe a year?) Trump is likely being charged now because Smith knows a clock is ticking with the election but ideally they would have all been charged at the same time.

I am reading the indictment and from the information within, Giuliani is definitely co-conspirator one and Powell is definitely co-conspirator three.

She is also a naturalized US citizen born in Jamaica, so Trump will undoubtedly attack her by trying to say that she is not a real American and should not be judging the case.

EDIT - I should clarify it is possible one of her parents may have been a US citizen, so it is possible she was a US citizen by birth rather than naturalized, idk.

if there's an issue with the judge, he has means to file motions for her to recuse

Instead of defending an American traitor why aren’t Republicans backing another candidate to be their presidential candidate and leader of their party?

It’s pure lunacy they’re sticking by this traitor.

And if it is proven in court that Trump has committed a crime, the judge has means to sentence him to a very long prison term.

I think it means depriving the citizens (in the states whose results he tried to overturn) of their right to have their vote counted.
