Decision expected by July? This is wrong! The Court goes into its summer recess on June 30 like they always do.

I expect a Decision from the Roberts Court by June 30 at the latest possibly even earlier.

They normally recess for summer by July 1st but have narrowly missed getting all opinions out & recessing by that date in a couple recent terms, & before the 80s' downward trend in the Court's docket size, it was actually normal to recess after July 4th instead of before July 1st.

Here are the oral arguments ongoing. Started at 10AM:

https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/live.aspx

It's the Fischer case, which could possibly free over 100 Jan 6th defendants / as well potentially drop two of Trump's DC charges.

Without yet being able to see any of the actual final decision, not staying the private civil cases even while they overlap the criminal cases is the correct holding regarding civil cases brought by private litigants as opposed to those filed by the government itself, given the lack of a 5A right against privately-litigated civil discovery.

Christina Bobb is in the list too.  Isn't she a current RNC official?

Someone on MSNBC said Chesebro is cooperating with prosecutors in this case. Does anyone know if that's true?

It's known that he was interviewed by the investigators a few weeks ago, so if he's not named in the indictment it's a pretty good bet he's cooperating.

Meadows, Giuliani among indicted in Arizona in latest 2020 election subversion case

Quote
A grand jury in Arizona has handed up an indictment against former President Donald Trump’s allies over their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, including the fake electors from that state and several individuals connected to his campaign.

Boris Epshteyn, a former White House aide who remains one of Trump’s closest advisers, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani are among those who have been indicted, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, announced the indictment Wednesday night, focusing on the 11 individuals who acted as pro-Trump electors in the state. The names of several other indicted defendants remain redacted, Mayes said in a statement Wednesday, until those people have been served.

...

While Trump is not among those charged in Arizona, the details in the indictment suggest he is “Unindicted Coconspirator 1.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Insane this even takes so long. The case should be thrown out immediately. Nobody is above the law.

So I guess the Watergate break-in was definitely an official act then. If only Nixon was so smart and found that out. He resigned for nothing.

Sauer admits some of the acts in the indictment constitute private conduct (but disputes the allegations). But they are not claiming immunity for private acts.

Barrett brought this up in the context of Smith's request that even if they find immunity for some official acts, these private acts could go to trial immediately.

Thomas bring up out of nowhere whether they have challenged Smith's appointment as SC in this case. This is a right wing talking point.

It's embarrassing this corrupt right-wing hack is still on the bench.
