Lawsuits against Presidents who were claimed to have done something while serving as President have never gone anywhere.

Time for a change (especially with this event).

Was just about to post this.
Want to add that it seems Kevin McCarthy was someone trying to push this "trump is innocent" horse manure.

Quote
The top members of the select committee investigating the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill refuted recent claims by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy that former President Donald Trump has been cleared by the Justice Department of any role in the insurrection.

"(McCarthy) has suggested, based on an anonymous report, that the Department of Justice has concluded that Donald Trump did not cause, incite, or provoke the violence on January 6th," the statement read. "When this anonymous report was first published, the Select Committee queried the Executive Branch agencies and congressional committees involved in the investigation. We've received answers and briefings from the relevant entities, and it's been made clear to us that reports of such a conclusion are baseless."

A federal judge ordered this video released over prosecutors objections as they felt it was a national security risk.

And?
What's your point?
Also, I have seen that video plenty of times in the past. Nothing new.

The point is not everyone there was there for a coup attempt.

Don't see how that video proves your "point," but whatever.
Also, I can tell you that you are not posting the full video of what transpired, at that door. But I know that is how you, and other pathetic trump supporters, are. They don't want "their kind" to see the truth, so they cut and paste videos to their advantage. If you watch the entire video, trump supporting idiots first completely smashed through one of the adjacent windows to that door (which you can see in the full video), and then that small group unlawfully opened the doors to let the rest of the morons inside.

I hope most of the judges are giving all of these morons a similar verbal bashing (in addition to jail time).

(Former) Olympic gold medalist pleads guilty in Capitol riot and will help prosecutors in future cases.

Olympic gold medalist Klete Keller pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of obstructing the Electoral College proceedings on January 6 -- and in a surprise move, plans to cooperate with the Justice Department and potentially testify against other alleged rioters.

The deal with Keller suggests prosecutors might try to use him as a star witness at upcoming trials, banking on his notoriety as a decorated athlete who won gold medals in swimming at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Woman charged with stealing a laptop from Pelosi's office during US Capitol riot.

Nine months after the US Capitol riot, a Pennsylvania woman has been formally charged with stealing and then selling or disposing of a laptop from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office.

An indictment unsealed on Thursday against Riley Williams accuses the 22-year-old of stealing a laptop from Pelosi's office and then ultimately getting rid of it. Prosecutors also charged her with resisting police. She has not yet entered a plea.

Washington Post: Trump lawyer John Eastman blamed Pence for January 6 violence by refusing to block 2020 election certification.

https://us.cnn.com/2021/10/30/politics/mike-pence-january-6-john-eastman-trump/index.html

This is just nutty.
Pence follows the rules of his role in the certification process, and because he did not deviate from it (in the traitorous ways trump and his looney lawyers wanted) he somehow gets blamed for the viloence that took place during the January 6th Insurrection.
Can someone explain how trump thought he would get-away with this this lunatic logic?

Sobbing Capitol rioter described his assault of police Officer Michael Fanone: 'My God. What did I just do?'

The Capitol rioter accused of firing the Taser at one of the most outspoken police officers wounded on January 6 had told federal investigators in March he had come to Washington, DC, to respond to then-President Donald Trump's call -- and that he regretted what he had done.

The Justice Department released video on Tuesday of the extensive March 2021 interview two federal investigators did with alleged Capitol rioter Daniel Joseph Rodriguez. The 38-year-old Californian is accused of shocking Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone with a stun gun amid an intense standoff between Trump supporters and law enforcement during the insurrection, and of participating in a conspiracy to attack of the Capitol. He has pleaded not guilty.

US Capitol rioter 'sought to physically remove' Pelosi and McConnell, prosecutors say.

Justice Department prosecutors say they have evidence that an alleged rioter who brought a gun to the US Capitol on January 6 was targeting both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and then-Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

According to a filing Thursday, Guy Reffitt, a member of the Texas Three Percenter militia, "specifically targeted at least two lawmakers -- the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and then-Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell -- whom he sought to physically remove or displace from the Capitol building."

But of course, we have trump-supporting blue avatars that continue to downplay the January 6th deadly Insurrection, and tell us it was just "this small thing, that got out of hand."

Federal prosecutors said Courtright later told investigators that she was looking for a place to charge her phone inside and that she didn’t realize when she first went onto the Senate floor that she was on the Senate floor.

“As she went inside, she claimed that she was focused on turning her phone on and did not pay attention to what was going on around her. She did remember seeing a circle of law enforcement officers, people chanting, people trying to break things, and others telling them not to break things,” they wrote. “According to the defendant, after she entered she started looking for a place to charge her phone.”

Does she think we're stupid?

I can't stop laughing at this story.

Good point here:

I remember thinking the same thing, when he decided to exclude any of his cult-GOP members on the committee. McCarthy had his little childish tantrum, and now he, trump, and their allies will pay.

US Capitol rioter gets 5 years in jail after throwing fire extinguisher at police

Quote
A Florida man who enthusiastically attacked police at the US Capitol on January 6 with a fire extinguisher, a wooden plank and a pole was sentenced to more than five years in prison on Friday, the longest sentence for a Capitol rioter thus far.

Robert Scott Palmer is the first person to be sentenced for the felony of assaulting an officer with a dangerous weapon. His 63-month sentence could set a benchmark for the more than 140 others who face the same charge.

"Every day we are hearing about reports of antidemocratic factions, people plotting potential violence in 2024," District Judge Tanya Chutkan said as she handed down the sentence. "It has to be made clear that trying to stop the peaceful transition of power, assaulting law enforcement, is going to be met with certain punishment. Not staying at home, not watching Netflix, not doing what you were doing before you got arrested."

Apparently Trump had children as senior White House advisors. Explains a lot.

Ivanka is 40 years old.  It's not like she's an innocent young child.

Not only that, but trump and his NutJob clan went after Hunter Biden.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/06/10/trump-papers-filing-system-635164

Trump's habit of ripping up paper after he's done with it long predates any of his high crimes and misdemeanors, or even his presidency.  He was asked to stop doing it because presidential papers are required to be kept for the Archives, but obviously he didn't care because silly things like 'rules' and 'laws' are for other people.

Yep. That's the Narsassitc Mental Disorder in him.

The first jury trial of a Jan. 6 defendant starts today.  Scott MacFarlane (https://twitter.com/MacFarlaneNews) is a good person to follow on this and other Jan.6-related cases.

Good to know.

Man, I am so glad the House GOP refused to put any of their goons on this committee.
They shot themselves in the foot (both feet), regarding their arrogant and stupid decision to not place any "loyal trump" members on this House investigative board.

If Republicans took back the House in 2020, the committee would have goons like Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz and Paul Gosar on it.

The report would blame the FBI and Antifa for launching a false flag operation.

True.
But I believe the Committee is planning to end their investigation, and have their full report completed, before the new congressional members will be seated in early 2023.

Big development - the first Jan. 6 defendant to go to a jury trial has been found guilty on all charges:

Fuzzy: I don't support those few lawbreakers among the January 6th rioters insurgents protesters engaging in legitimate political discourse, BUT WHAT ABOUT BLM RIOTING AND LAWLESSNESS!?!1

Please don't entice him.
