In some previous Presidential elections, there were numbers suggesting that white high school dropouts favoured Democrats even as white noncollege voters overall voted for Republicans presumably because the former group tend to be disproportionately lower income. Did this hold true in the 2020 election?

I very much doubt it

High school drop outs are almost unheard of today

Most people who didn't finish high school are 30+.

The exception being recent hispanic immigrants and Native Americans, neither of whom voted for Trump

High school dropouts make up 12% of 18-24 year olds in the US.

Probably very low turnout, but among those who vote a fairly even split.

Most of the dropouts I know are stoners. Definitely not the types that Republicans love to glorify. I wouldn't really be surprised if a slim majority of the ones that vote vote Dem.

I can't begin to give stats, but there's a sizable number of "stoner" kids who are right-wing (especially if they are white and rural), who transmogrify into Qanon types as they get older.

Just judging from the Facebook feed of people I went to HS with, they inexplicably believe the GOP (and Trump) are friendlier toward weed legalization and that it is faceless liberal bureaucrats who want to lock people up for weed possession.   It's mostly implied.

I know two white high school dropouts and both are staunch Democrats.

My friend's Mom is a high school dropout, she is a successful hair salon owner. A lot of high school dropouts are entrepreneurial and want to work for themselves.

Generally that combination, wanting to be a business owner plus not getting an education I would think would lead to Republican leanings so if that's common with this group I'd be inclined to think they're R leaning.

Most highschool drop outs are not entrepreneurial. Sure, there are success stories but most are bums who don't go anywhere.

Kinda hard to start a business without capital. Kinda hard to earn money without a high school diploma. Kinda hard to get investors to invest money if they don't take you seriously. I can't imagine a bank giving a business loan to someone without any education...
