Mexico not impressing anyone in the first match of the Gold Cup, as all they could get was a 0-0 draw with Trinidad and Tobago.

I am happy that Argentina beat Brazil and won the Copa America yesterday but more importantly I am very excited and anxious for the Euros final that is about to start. Viva l'Italia!

Let's not forget England scored early in the Iceland match, too.

Will be glad when it's all over, had enough of this wall-to-wall masturbatory and pathetic chutzpah. Will be sickening to watch Boris Johnson take credit and celebrate standing next to people he would've denied food when they were kids. Tour de France, now there's a good sporting event on at the moment.

That's why Zlatan warned LeBron James, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford not to get involved in politics and charity, because politics and sports don't mix, when you are an athlete you will have to meet with a politician down the line regardless of their politics or the athlete's politics....politics and sports should be neutral, in a sense....

I obviously want Italy to come through.

But the justified pile-ons of the anti-woke merchants suddenly embracing a team they derided is nice to see.

Not this year - Tadej Pogacar's complete (not at all suspicious) otherworldliness has ruined the fun Sad

I've been rooting for Cavendish to beat Merckx's record the whole way (big fan of his) so the first half was exciting for me. Though yeah, doesn't have the excitement in the GC the way previous tours have done.

Southgate is completely out of his depth lol. His idea of a substitution is to bring on Jordan Henderson?

I spotted a sign in the audience which read something like WE CAME HERE FOR THE ITALIANS - with Scottish flags on it - and I found that particularly funny for some reason.

Probably just someone not liking England but a lot of Scots, particularly in the Paisley area, are Italian or have Italian ancestry.

Probably someone who thinks Italy would support Scottish Independence.

lol, Southgate is a f**king idiot. He brings on two dynamic and dangerous players, Sancho and Rashford, to take spot kicks, rather than actually change the game. England deserve to lose.

Deserved win for Italy. Clearly the better side. Feel bad for my Arsenal boy Saka though…

Englanders continue to suck at penalty shootouts.

Sky remains blue.

Wow.....Southgate is a good manager, but he made some crucial errors.

Can England win it all in 2022?

I think we can admire Pickford's save which kept England in and Donnarumma's just before that. Excellent goalkeeping.

Worthy winners. Italy clearly the better team. I hope for a similar result for Boris, how satisfied I will be. Sad for the players though.

Seeing England go out, in true England fashion just didn't have the same feel to it this time around.

Excellent match from England, but Italy were the deserving victors. Forza Azurri! 🇮🇹

I'm also ecstatic about Argentina's win last night. It's been a great weekend for the world's Italians Smiley

AND ITALY WINS THE EUROPEAN CUP 2020 2021!

VIVA L'ITALIA!

European champions for the second time, after 1968. I almost cannot believe it! Although to be honest a small part of me was convinced this was going to happen ever since I noticed that the inaugural match of this itinerant edition was given to Rome.

For a bit of trivia and coincidences: last time we won a major tournament (2006 World Cup) we also won the final at penalty shootouts after a 1-1 game; last time we reached a Euro final (2012) the tournament also included a match with England won at penalties - in that case quarter-finals.
