To gain dominance over people and it was used to enslave, the British enslaved their Irish and Scottish ancestors, the Europeans enslaved their Native American ancestors, Africans sold their descendents into slave trade in North and South America.

Jews have enslaved Arabs and Egyptians enslaved Jews.  Alot of different enslaved their own people in fear that they would come up over them as you know everyone is related to each other in this world.

Throughout the history of this planet, every species, from dinosaurs down to amoeba, have used violence as a common mode of interaction with each other.  We can try our best but humans aren't going to be the first species to not do this.
