Ronald Reagan gave Per Capita and Repirations to Japanese and Native Americans, put two Pro choice Kennedy and O'Connor on the Crt and raised the cap on Social Security taxes and passed comprehensive immigration reform, due Speaker Tip ONeil and J Wright

I wrote a paper on this on College he was a big Govt Conservative just like Bob Dole

Back then Conservatives also believed in Jefferson pledge of two terms due to Jefferson was a states rights D and believed in balanced budgets

But, Rs got away from term limits due to 12 yrs in H control

It will almost certainly come in the name of law and order and "Real American values". Nationalism is essential and liberalism, especially these days, tends to reject that.

Republicans chest thumping nationalism, xenophobia, war mongering, racism and support for violent insurrections has nothing to do with fascism.

That's incredibly difficult because a lot of the elements of fascism are counteractive to liberalism and egalitarianism. That is why most fascist uprisings have been from the right wing.

No, he wasn't. But that's one of the things that made him so incredibly destructive.

So to be a fascist simply means to reject popular sovereignty and institutional limits on the elite and/or powerful.

It's pretty simple to define fascism and it's pretty simple to understand that fascism is not even remotely close to being a left wing ideology. Anyone who believes that is a moron.

Fascism is the embrace of ultranationalism, a yearning to return to the "good old days" (making things "Great Again"), a scapegoating of an enemy or enemies (the Lugenpresse, the Jews/Filthy Immigrant Mexican Rapists and Muslim Refugee Terrorists, the elites and globalists, etc) who is both strong (thus necessitating an incredible amount of force) ("beat up the protesters") and weak ("Sleepy Joe"), and once we (the true chosen people of one race, nationality, etc.) defeat that enemy, we can create a state where our interests are prioritized. It is a rejection of expertise and experts, popular democracy, and liberalism/communism--only we, the chosen people, can know what's best for us. It requires an exclusively masculine, domination-obsessed leader with supernatural or divine qualities ("I alone can fix it") with an appeal to the aforementioned values by co-opting leftist rhetoric ("right wing populism") while simultaneously undermining all the things that people actually like about a welfare state. It is the acceptance that our country won't be Great Again until we purge it of the filth ("sh**thole countries") and dissenters ("RINOs"/"Fake News"/"Radical Socialist Democrats") and everyone accepts that our land was made for us and us alone.

Of course there's a lot more to it than that, but that's the best way to sum it up in a way that I think just about anyone can grasp.

What do you mean, "If"?

If you're interested in what fascism in modern America looks like, you have a live specimen with the current GOP.

I mean you may hate the policies he implemented but he was undoubtedly the most successful president we have had in at least the past 50 years if not longer

Yes, and Ted Bundy was one of the most successful serial killers we've ever seen.

That this absurd statement isn’t even anywhere near close to the most ridiculous Reagan quote tells you all you need to know about the man.

That less about Reagan and more about the entire collapse of legislating when Republicans took over in 94.

If the past 14 months haven't been fascist, nothing is.
