The election for Governor of Illinois is the only one which I would be even close to considering voting for the GOP candidate in.  I think Rod Blagojevich has generally been incompetent and I believe from my limited knowledge of her that Judy Baar Topinka is a moderate Republican.  If the election were held today, I would vote for her, bearing in mind that all recent polls have shown Blagojevich leading.

I would vote for Judy Baar Topinka, though it is likely that Blago will win re-election.

She isn't moderate on guns and tax cuts.

How many moderates are moderate on every issue?

I am saying that she says that she is a moderate but she can govern like hawk on certain issues. And some issues are more of a concern to voters than things like abortion.  By the way she wants to lift the morrentorum on the death penalty as well and she is against the morning after pill.

Blagojevich, although Topinka seems pretty tolerable.

The republicans aren't going to win this race Blagojevich has high disapproval ratings but Topinka's disapprovals have gone up in recent weeks and she hasn't even ran a single ad. The Dems would have to fall apart all over the country before the GOP steal this one.  And Daley can get out the vote in the state on election day, with Blagojevich's father in law being an alderman.

Blago will be re-elected (by maybe even a comfortable margin), although he really doesn't deserve to be.

Stufflebeam was removed for lack of valid signatures on Aug 11. The challenge to Whitney was overruled last week leaving the Greens as the only third party  candidates on the ballot. I'm not sure where the other independents came from. Earlier independent candiadtes who either were removed or withdrew were Nita Shinn, Scott Summers, and Jeff Trigg.

Everyone listed in the poll is listed on the Wikipedia article Illinois gubernatorial election, 2006.

You think you are hilarious, but alas, you are not

I guess hilarity is what you turn to when you don't have the skills to debate the topic at hand.

Excuse me?

I may not have the "skills to debate the topic at hand", but at least I'm coherent.  Not to mention that I can quote somebody's post correctly.

Quoting posts (which I do correctly 95% of the time) is more important than debate?  Wow

What the hell is your problem, you arrogant little prick?  I made a light-hearted post commenting on a candidate's name (for which I was not the first), and now I get some deluded 15 year old on my case for even less related things?  Don't you have better things to do?

I don't know...Rod is far, far away from being my favorite Democrat. No one likes a DINO, an incompetent one at that

Blagojevich's father in law being an alderman.

Isn't Blago's father-in-law campaigning AGAINST Blago?

Anyway, I'd vote for Topinka.

I though DINO/RINOs were not to be spoken of on this site? Smiley
