I tried reading One Hundred Years of Solitude and couldn’t make it past page 150 or so. Very dense and all of the characters have basically the same name. Part of why I had issues with Daenerys’s storyline in A Dance with Dragons was all of the Mereenese names.
Never heard of the others.
The cliff notes I have of them without reading them:
Portnoy's Complaint - Philip Roth book about a man addicted to masturbating
Infinite Jest - DFW, million pages long, is about a handful of plots including Quebec nationalist terrorism and tennis all set in a dystopian future
Bend in the River - Naipul, sort of like Heart of Darkness but written about a Muslim Indian living in Africa
Midnight's Children - Rushdie, masgical realism about the partition of india
Gravity's Rainbow - Pynchon, postmodern novel themed about the V2 rocket
