I lean toward option #2. We don't know exactly how DeSantis would be as a nominee but he clearly would have strong support from the GOP base and would have better potential crossover appeal than Trump likely. I think Trump is underrated because he always does better when expectations are low and people write him off. Also I don't think Democrats would be able to get the same level of Anti-Trump enthusiasm as they did in 2020 in 2024. No way after 4 years of a Dem President. It just won't be at the same level.

Option one, given how many are assuming he'll get a NUT map, especially if "neoliberal woke DiAngeloist" Harris is the nominee. I wouldn't write off Trump if he were the nominee and Biden were unpopular, and while people are underestimating his chances of being the nominee again, I don't think he'd be in a great position if Biden had at least decent favorability ratings.

If you're talking about their chances of becoming the nominee, then DeSantis is clearly the answer because I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that it's Trump's nomination to lose if he runs.

If you're talking about their general election chances, if they're the nominee, then I'd probably still narrowly go with DeSantis but Trump is slightly underrated in this regard.

Option one, since I feel people are overrating DeSantis' chances in Suburbia a bit, while I have continue to believe, while Trump has his base no-matter what, he is still too toxic for the general electorate.

Dems won't have nearly the anti-Trump enthusiasm in 2024 as 2020

DeSantis is very overrated on Atlas, most of this site thinks he'd Blanche any nominee not named Joe Biden
