Having a good economy in a populated metro area. It hasn’t suffered as much as the rest of the Midwest.

Because Minnesota's economy was largely also based on other sectors than Rust Belt-style dinosaur factories and thus wasn't hit as hard as the regions that were entirely dependent on them once they started to decline. We're also one of the most educated metro areas in the country.
