Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health was relisted 20 times. What’s going on?

Possibly just a conservative justice or 2 taking forever to write a dissent to the denial of cert. Every little thing isn't equivalent to the sky falling at the end of the world, y'know.

But what if it indicates the 5 pro-dictatorship justices are preparing a decision (assigned by Thomas) that will abolish the Bill of Rights, with Roberts writing a non-governing concurrence?

It was relisted for today’s conference. Let’s see if it gets relisted today or Monday. If not, a cert decision will be made today or Monday.

Really surprised they moved on this while there is still a federal Dem trifecta that could mess with the Court rather than waiting for 2023.  Suggests it will probably be pretty narrow?  Or alternatively, perhaps they know Thomas or Alito is in poor health and they want to move as quickly as possible to get a sweeping ruling?  Roberts absolutely loves precedent, so there's no way he's going to turn around and reverse a decision overruling Roe if he's the swing vote again, even though he might not sign onto one if his vote was decisive.

I very much doubt that they consider the current congressional makeup when deciding to hear cases; Citizens United was heard and (and the decision was reached, though not when announced) while Democrats had a trifecta with a filibuster-proof majority. Even if they did worry about that, pro-life Joe Manchin isn't about to change his position on court packing over abortion rights.

Only John Roberts does.

Only John Roberts does.

There is zero reason to think that is true.
