This being the day set by the third Lincoln Constitution for the convening of the Lincoln General Court, and myself being the Dean of the Lincoln Legislative Body, I declare the Lincoln General Court will come to order! (bangs gavel)

All deputies are reminded of the need to swear in in the appropriate thread. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of office.

Pursuant to the top matter of the Third Lincoln Constitution, the first order of business is to elect a Speaker.

I will now accept nominations for the office of Speaker. Deputies shall have a minimum of 24 hours to make such nominations. After that, we will vote between the nominated candidates.

I've always made it clear that I think Dwarven Dragon is an effective manger of the legislative body, and so I think he'd be the best Speaker until other members accrue seniority.
