I think an assumption of close to a zero net effect is realistic, but for purposes of the poll, assume that this assumption is fact.

I suppose that one could argue as a moderate to left poster, that one might vote yes, because TX and FL would be more likely to elect Pub crazies, while NY and MD and IL would elect more centrist Pubs, but that would miss the point of the poll in my view.

The drawback to this is it takes the biggest Dem opportunities off the board while leaving at least four large states (GA, NC, MI, OH) at risk of an impactful Republican gerrymander unless the state courts get involved. That's not counting states like TN, MO, IN, WI, and most southern states where Republican majorities lock in a natural Republican advantage.
