Lieberman is a national name. Murkowski is not. You should know enough to know the media covers the big names. Again, don't be dumb.

Also, no surprise on the Democrats' side...Knowles is leading with about 2/3rd of the votes.

PALIN, SARAH H.                         30022 50.36%
BINKLEY, JOHN                           18258 30.63%
MURKOWSKI, FRANK H.              11064 18.56%

Seems like it will be a fairly easy Palin win.  A consistent majority?

Precincts reporting:213/439 (48.5%)

Wasn't it supposed to be closer than this?

Lisa's days are probably numbered too as she has enraged many of her constituents.

I officially declare, in my capacity as an election caller, Sarah Palin the winner of the Republican nomination for Governor.

PALIN, SARAH H.                                    35809 50.70%
BINKLEY, JOHN                                       21274 30.12%
MURKOWSKI, FRANK H.                          13235 18.74%

265/439 reporting (60.4%)

Murkowski was lucky that there were only two other candidates.

Lisa's days are probably numbered too as she has enraged many of her constituents.

But the latest survey usa poll has her approval among GOP voters at over 70.  I'm not so sure...

Interestingly, the moderate Sarah Pallin is probably closer ideologically to Lisa than her old man...

The polling seems to have nailed this one.  Good.

Whether Lisa Murkowski's days seem numbered or not is really of little importance since she doesn't have to run again till 2010.  That's a long way away.

My change to Toss-up that I made a week or so ago based on the new polling still stands.

I suspect, though, that as time passes (and maybe as soon as the next poll) this race will revert back to Lean R, as Alaska's natural GOPness comes to the fore and the hated Governor moves to the background.

b.s.

if the people of alaska wanted to get rid of lisa, they had their chance.  they had a chance to replace her with a very popular ex-governor.

lisa is doing a fine job.  she is one of the few gop senators that isnt completely fing crazy.

by the way, isnt this palin women mad because murkowski didnt appoint her to the senate seat?  well, it looks like she got her revenge.

Are there any other exciting Alaska races, AKSaber?

My Senate and House seats are not set in stone. And there are a few Senate seats around Anchorage that are going to be contested until the election. Those are the only ones I'm aware of right now.
